About the Green Sea Peel
What it’s for
Stubborn hyperpigmentation and melasma.
For dark spots, uneven tone and hyperpigmentation.
What happens
- Skin is cleansed and prepared, and we go through the plan and the week ahead once more.
- A herbal powder of marine algae and plant actives is massaged into the skin in stages. The massage is what drives it in, and it is felt — warm and prickling, not comfortable.
- The powder is left to work, then a calming mask and a barrier cream go on.
- You go home with the treatment still working. The peel itself happens over the following days.
What to expect after
Skin feels tight and hot and looks flushed for the first day or two. From about day three it begins to peel, sometimes in sheets, and by day five to seven it has finished. Book this one around your diary, not the other way round.
Who it’s not for
Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and not on active cystic acne, an eczema or rosacea flare, a cold sore, or within six months of isotretinoin (Roaccutane). Not for anyone with an allergy to marine or algae ingredients. Tell us about any recent peel, retinoid or laser.
If you are not sure whether any of this applies to you, say so when you book. We would rather move your appointment than treat skin that is not ready for it.
Aftercare
Do not pick or pull the peeling skin — that is what leaves marks longer-lasting than the pigmentation you came for. Barrier cream as directed, no acids, retinoids or scrubs for two weeks, and no sauna, steam or heavy sweating for a week. SPF 50 every morning, reapplied, without exception.
