About the Azelaic peel
What it’s for
Pigmentation on skin that reacts easily.
For dark spots, uneven tone and hyperpigmentation.
What happens
- Cleanse and prepare, with extra care around anywhere already reactive.
- Azelaic acid is applied in thin, even layers and kept to a short, watched contact time.
- Removed, then a calming mask for redness.
- Barrier cream and SPF to finish.
What to expect after
Tingling during, and a light flush afterwards that usually fades within the hour. Flaking tends to be mild. Redness-prone skin generally takes this one well.
Who it’s not for
Talk to us first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Not on broken skin, or during a flare of eczema or perioral dermatitis. Tell us about any recent peel or laser.
If you are not sure whether any of this applies to you, say so when you book. We would rather move your appointment than treat skin that is not ready for it.
Aftercare
Gentle cleanser, plenty of moisturiser, and no acids or retinoids for five days. SPF every morning.
