About the Acne spot treatment
What it’s for
A flare-up that needs calming now.
For breakouts, congestion and the marks acne leaves behind.
What happens
- The area is cleansed and we look at what the spot actually is.
- If it is ready, it is drained carefully. If it is not, we leave it — forcing a deep spot is how scars are made.
- An antibacterial, anti-inflammatory treatment is applied to the site.
- Light or cooling therapy to take the heat out of it.
What to expect after
The spot is flatter and less angry the same day. A small mark where we worked is normal and fades over the following week.
Who it’s not for
Not for deep, unripe cystic lesions — we will treat around those and plan a proper course instead. Not on skin with an active infection or a cold sore.
If you are not sure whether any of this applies to you, say so when you book. We would rather move your appointment than treat skin that is not ready for it.
Aftercare
Hands off. No makeup over the area for the rest of the day, keep it clean and dry, and wear SPF so the mark fades instead of darkening.
