Overview
Is this the right course?
The foundation course. Skin analysis, cleansing and toning, extraction, massage and mask work, and the contraindications that decide when not to treat at all.
Who it is for
People who want to work as facial therapists, and therapists who treat faces already but were never formally trained. You will practise on real skin under supervision, so expect to be hands-on from the first weeks.
Before you start
- No previous facial training needed
- Spa Professional Conduct & Etiquette, or equivalent professional experience, is recommended
By the end, you will be able to
- Analyse a client’s skin and explain what you see in plain language
- Carry out a complete professional facial, from cleanse to finish
- Perform extractions safely and know when to leave a blemish alone
- Choose and apply masks and massage for the skin in front of you
- Identify contraindications and turn a client away when you must

Questions
Asked often
Will I practise on real people?
Yes. The course is taught in the spa and assessed practically, so you work on real skin under a lecturer’s supervision.
Do I pay anything when I apply?
No. The application is free and nothing is charged online. The academy calls you first; your place is held once the deposit is paid.
The intake I want is full. Should I still apply?
Yes. A full intake stays open to applications as a waiting list. Places do come free, and a place that does can be offered to someone on it.
Can a parent, relative or employer pay the fees?
Yes. Payments are recorded against the student’s place whoever makes them, with the payer’s name on the receipt.
What does it take to earn the certificate?
Three things, all of them written down per course: the minimum attendance, a final grade at or above the pass mark with every assessment marked, and the fees cleared. Each course page shows its exact requirements.
What if I am ill and miss a class?
Tell the academy. An absence recorded as excused is taken out of the attendance calculation entirely, rather than counted against you.
I am under 18. Can I apply?
Yes — or a parent or guardian can apply for you. Before enrolment the academy needs your date of birth and a parent or guardian’s details and consent.
