About the Silk skin dermaplaning
What it’s for
Fine facial hair and dull texture.
For dehydrated, dull or tired skin, fine lines and texture.
What happens
- Cleanse and degrease — the blade needs completely dry skin.
- The skin is held taut and a sterile blade is drawn across it at an angle, lifting fine hair and the dead surface layer.
- A hydrating mask on newly bare skin.
- Moisturiser and SPF to finish.
What to expect after
Skin is smoother immediately and makeup sits better on it. A little pinkness for an hour. The hair grows back exactly as it was — a blade cannot change it.
Who it’s not for
Not over active acne, raised lesions, cold sores or broken skin, and not on skin currently peeling from another treatment. Not suitable if you are using isotretinoin.
If you are not sure whether any of this applies to you, say so when you book. We would rather move your appointment than treat skin that is not ready for it.
Aftercare
No acids, retinoids or scrubs for three days, and no direct sun. With the vellus hair and dead layer gone the skin has nothing to shelter behind, so SPF matters more than usual for the first week.
